For My Queer Family in Dark Times

Updated: Nov 9

We are here, and we are real. Despite the world’s desperate clawing to erase us, to silence us, to make us hate ourselves, we refuse to vanish. Donald Trump may sit on his throne of hollow power again, promising a future that drips with cruelty and repression. But let him know this: we are no longer afraid. We are furious.

We’ve fought for every inch of space, every breath of air we have. We’ve bled for our joy, our love, our community, and we will not give it up now. To every hand that tries to push us back into the shadows: we will push right back. We will not give them the satisfaction of a single step backward. We will be loud, resilient, and relentless, like the beat of a heart that will not stop.

This rage we feel? It is our power. Let it burn and fuel us. Let it remind us of what is at stake and what we are capable of. And while the world may seek to tear us down, we will lift each other up. We will challenge every encroachment, resist every hateful decree, and drown out every hateful voice with the echo of our own: WE. WILL. NOT. BREAK.

They may try to silence us, but we will be louder. They may try to shame us, but we know the truth—we are beautiful in our defiance, unstoppable in our pride. And every time they come for us, we’ll remind them that we are not alone, that we are not afraid, and that we will fight, with the full force of our love and our rage.

To my queer siblings: take up space, hold your head high, love fiercely, and stay vigilant. Together, we are unstoppable. Together, we are a force that no fear-monger can destroy.

And if they make it a crime to be us? Then, fuck it, we do crime.

We are here, and we will not be erased. Not now, not ever.
